Riser

BPISS CH Kiemac Rising Star at Pekeapug aka “Riser”

 riser and marg

Riser is an amazing Pekingese.  First male I have owned and co own
him with Penny Mackie.  She is co breeder with Michael Hill.

 Riser and Tannis

In Riser’s first year of showing he blew us away.  MBPIG, a BPISS and breed placements. His standing after limited showing in his first year was very impressive to us. Riser will have limited showing while he grows up, but keep your eye out for him,you never know when he may show up and surprise everyone.

Sass

Lionhearts No Regrets aka “Sass”

Sass is our little sleeve, which in pekingese terms means she is small, under 6 lbs.
Sass weighs in at a whopping 5.4 lbs.

There are challenges to showing a sleeve.
Pekingese as in Canada we do not have a separate class for them.  Sass is enjoying
life as the perfect house dog as showing did not work out for her after obtaining
9 points.sass

Jessica

CH Lionheart Jessica

Jessie is our first pekingese champion.  Jessica is an absolute joy to show and to live with.  She is happy on a continuous basis.

Jess and Tannis

All you have to do to put a smile on her face is rub her belly.  She is very much a pekingese that the whole world evolves around her and if it does not… why not?? “What could you be doing that is more important than rubbing my belly”…  Jessica received her championship with a great end.   A Group 4th.  What a way to finish!

Sofi

CH Pekeapug’s Aqui Soy aka “Sofi”

Sofi… well I am not sure what I can say about her, her registered name Aqui Soy, means Here I am, and yes she lets you know she is here….  Sofi obtained her championship in Prince George, BC under Mr. Stanbridge.sofi

We are pleased he saw the potential in this girl and gave her the finishing points.  Sofi will be in the whelping box and crossing our fingers she will produce some outstanding babies.

Sofi has had one litter.  April 23/09 four babies (3M) (1F) were born.  BISS, MBIS, Ch. Xoe’s Oscar de la Hoya is the proud stud.  Their kids are:

Pekeapug’s The Need For Speed, Maverick is in his new home in California with Amber and George Morgan and boys.  Mav is co-owned by myself and I will be posting his wins here as well.

Pekeapug’s Top Gun on Ice, Iceman  he will be with us until a great show home comes around.  Being that we are very picky on how our kids are treated and loved, it will take us a while to find that perfect home for him.

Pekeapug’s That Loving Feeling, Viper will be with us forever, along with his sister Pekeapug’s Take My Breath Away, Charly.

Abbey

Aisle’s Abbey in Wonderland

Abbey is our first black bitch… She is a very gorgeous girl, beautiful head; great body when she walked her gait was right on.  Abbey did not like the show ring, she was extremely shy.  We decided to pull her from the ring, wait until she matured and breed her, we hoped her offspring would have the same head, body and hopefully gait that we would  Abbey
proceed with that.

Abbey’s first litter with CH. C-Rays Slamdunk of Aisles produced five wonderful babies on May 10, 2005.  Pekeapug A Ruff Shining Light (Lukas), Pekeapug A Ruff Star (Jabba) are the two boys we kept and now have their Canadian Championships.  We kept the girl out of the litter, Pekeapug Diamond in the Ruff (Dakota) who is enjoying the life of luxury in her new home, with a wonderful family.  Abbey’s second litter with Caravelle’s Bach to Blues produced a singleton.  Pekeapug’s Aqui Soy (means Here I am) was born on February 20, 2007.  Sofi loves the ring; she brought excellent things from both her sire and dam.

Abbey has been diagnosed with Invasive Mammary Carcinoma in February of 2008 and was given six months to live, luckily for our sake, they were wrong and Abbey is a strong, cancer free, for the moment, living the life of the guard dog in the house….

Lukas

Ch. Pekeapug A Ruff Shining Light

“Lukas” was our first champion for Pekeapug.  He shines in the show ring.  When this boy was born, I picked him as pick of the litter, there was something about him that was special.  Lukas has proven on a number of occasions why.  lukas

He is a multiply BOB winner, he was the only black pug that was awarded the award of Merit in 2006 at the Pug Club of BC Specialty. Lukas and Colin

Lukas’ new friend Colin Brown shows him when possible and they both shine in the ring together.
Lukas continues to prove why he was the pick of the litter.

He will continue his show career for a while and he is available for stud services to approved bitches.

Jabba

Ch Pekeapug A Ruff Star aka “Jabba”

Jabba is of the same litter as Lukas, Jabba received the one quality of shyness from his mom, and he has been a late bloomer. Jabba started off his show career with a bang. First weekend out 5 points. From there, it was all down hill. Jabba was up against his brother in most cases.

Being that Jabba was a little shy compared to Lukas it took him a little longer to finish his Canadian Championship. Jabba has matured into an extremely nice boy. His head is large and dynamic. Jabba and CJ

My daughter CJ showed Jabba to his Canadian Championship. Jabba is available for stud services to approved bitches.

Elena

Can Ch Highland Kendoric Ice Storm aka “Elena”

Elena was purchased from my friends Doris Aldrich and Pam Donaldson. She has a very special pedigree. CH. Webb’s Texas Tornado (Twist) x CH. Kesander’s Ramona Quimby. Both of her parents I have been in awe over since I first saw their pictures. Elena has not let me down in the show ring yet. She has an outstanding attitude and presence like no other.

She demands the attention of the judge and anyone else as soon as she walks into the ring. Mr. LT Haverstock was first to see the quality in Elena with giving her BOB at six months and six days… we are proud of her achievements and look forward to everything else she has to offer. Elena continued to do well in the ring achieving nine points in a very short period of time.  Then we went on a loosing streak.  Then at NACA in June 2009 Elena went winners bitch again for her Canadian Championship, thank you to Mr. Michael Hill for seeing her.

Elena again went to a few more shows taking BOS to BISS, MBIS Ch. Xoe’s Oscar de la Hoya, which is exciting to me.  Then off to AKC we went… Elena did nothing on the Friday, but Saturday under Mr. Andrew Brace Elena took Best of Breed and Best Puppy, beating out the specials.  We then went to the Southern Alberta Toy Dog Association Specialty and she took BOS to Oscar again and Best Puppy in the breed.  Sunday again we did nothing and then on Monday, Elena takes Best of Breed and Best Puppy in breed and then a Group 4…. I am so proud of my USA bred girl….  We will keep you posted on the rest of the year…

About Pekeapug

Welcome ..

Marg and LukasWith many goals set in mind for the years to come, we look forward with great anticipation as to what we will be blessed with and what we humbly accept. We welcome you to the family of Pekeapug and hope you enjoy our site.

With our breeding program in full swing and showing happening year ’round, we are grateful for all the support we have recieved.  My children CJ Postma (soon to be Jones) and Aaron O’Connor have been a very big part of the dog life.  If it weren’t for CJ we would have never been owned by Pekingese.  Gee thanks kids!!!!!!  :)

We at Pekeapug are very fortunate to have had the support over the years that we have had, in both breeding and showing, from friends who show with us, or show our dogs when we need ( Marg and Colin Brown) and friends that design and maintain our website ( Cate at catebydesign.com), to family that drive us from show to show without much complaint even though we are taking the trailer. :)

I’ve been lucky enough to be showing again with my Mother , Joan Minks, since my Fathers passing to get her back in the ring.  Her and Paris, her Boston are starting to mesh and do some winning much to my pleasure.
