News post….  Elena wins BOS at the Pug Club of Canada National Specialty.  There were a number of beautiful bitches entered in the show and Elena showed herself very well to Dr. Keating.  I am very proud to be her mommy and her Grandma’s Pam Donaldson and Doris Aldrich are proud as well……   Nice going Elena.

Elena was purchased from my friends Doris Aldrich and Pam Donaldson. She has a very special pedigree. CH. Webb’s Texas Tornado (Twist) x CH. Kesander’s Ramona Quimby. Both of her parents I have been in awe over since I first saw their pictures. Elena has not let me down in the show ring yet. She has an outstanding attitude and presence like no other.

She demands the attention of the judge and anyone else as soon as she walks into the ring. Mr. LT Haverstock was first to see the quality in Elena with giving her BOB at six months and six days… we are proud of her achievements and look forward to everything else she has to offer. Can Ch Highland Kendoric Ice Storm aka “Elena”  Elena as a winning pup!

Elena continued to do well in the ring achieving nine points in a very short period of time.  Then we went on a loosing streak.  Then at NACA in June 2009 Elena went winners bitch again for her Canadian Championship, thank you to Mr. Michael Hill for seeing her.

Elena again went to a few more shows taking BOS to MBISS, MBIS Am Can Ch. Xoe’s Oscar de la Hoya, which is exciting to me.  Then off to AKC we went… Elena did nothing on the Friday, but Saturday under Mr. Andrew Brace Elena took Best of Breed and Best Puppy, beating the other specials.  We then went to the Southern Alberta Toy Dog Association Specialty and she took BOS to Oscar again and Best Puppy in the breed.  Sunday again we did nothing and then on Monday, Elena takes Best of Breed again and Best Puppy in breed and then a Group 4…. I am so proud of my USA bred girl….  We will keep you posted on the rest of the year…

September 21, 2009 update
Elena attended four shows in the United States to begin her US Champion ship.  Unsure how Elena was going to show being away from me, I expected nothing but hoped for everything.  Elena did not disappoint me in the least.
Show # 1 took Winners Bitch
Show # 2 took Winners Bitch
Show #3 took Best of Breed
Show #4 took Winners Bitch
Elena is well on her way to her US champion ship!!!!

Lloydminster, Alberta limited entry shows….
Elena did very well at Lloyd
Under Ainsle Mills, we took Best of Opposite….  unfortunately we will not be showing any black pugs to this judge again.
The rest of the weekend we took Best of Breed.  Under Nancy Popovich, we made the cut in group…. that was exciting considering all the beautiful dogs that were there….
October 9 – 11, 2009
This is Edmonton Kennel Club (EKC) show weekend…  unfortunately it was only Oscar and Elena entered…. Elena took BOS to Oscar all weekend.  He sure looked great and did well took the group all three days…  Nice going Oscar!!!

October 15 – 18, 2009

Elena and I went to Rapid City, South Dakota.  First day, Elena goes BOW under W. Everett Dean, what a thrill.  This was one of the judges I went for.  The other was Edd Bivin and unfortunately he pulled from judging the pugs as he is doing the nationals.  Under Charles Trotter, who gave her WB in Montana, walked her in Rapid City……   Under Dennis and Mary Lou Kniola Elena took RWB to a 3 point major… so close, but so far away…..  We will have to see when we can get back there, but now that the puppies are ready to show, it maybe a while…
October 23 -25, 2009
Battle River Canine Association show (Camrose)…Elean took BOS to Oscar on Friday under Paul Stanton of Sweden and Sunday under Norman Patton.   Saturday, Elena decided to be naughty and Mr. William Gunn did not approve of this and kick us to the curb.

We went to our first show for 2010 at Prince Albert Kennel & Obedience Club, Elena did well, taking 6/6 Best of Breeds and topping the weekend off with a Group 3 under Mr. LT Haverstock.

Next off we went to Chilliwack, British Colombia where Elena took BOS to four different males including Pug Club of Canada – Regional Specialty under judge Mr.  Warren Hudson.  Elena showed like a charm, a little disinterested in the Specialty, but still took BOS.

We hit Grande Prairie Kennel club where Elena took 5 out of 6 Best of Breeds and 3 out of 5 Group placements.

Off to Lakeland Kennel Club and YES!! Elena takes a Group 3, which for the moment put her as #1 Pug Bitch, #1 Black Pug Bitch, and #4 Overall Pug…  This has been an exciting year for Elena and we are so excited for the Pug Club of Canada National Specialty at AKC.  The judge is Dr. Steven Keating for the specialty and Mrs. Beverly Anderson for the Sweepstakes classes….

Elena takes another Group 4, we are so excited about this girl, she is so "typey" as one of the distinguished judges that we travelled a great distance to show under told me.
